Tyna Keelan

Tyna is the most successful producer from New Zealand with many of his own hits and songs produced for others in the last decade. He is an amazing song-writing, producer, vocalist, guitarist and drummer. He brings all this expertise to Music Rocks as a band teacher, vocal and instrument teacher. He will provide the bridge between recording engineers and musicians for all MRA recording programs with the best knowledge in W.A.

Tyna has played with performers such as George Benson and many Big Day Outs with Scribe and others… We will have a more full bio on Tyna real soon… Until then, youtube his hits such as ‘Overjoyed’ and ‘East Coast Girl’ where he went live to TV for the annual Moari Music Awards… more soon…

MC Rae

Ray Tanielu (MC Rae) was voted ‘Best Urban Artist’ at the WAMI awards in 2011. His songs have been played as promotion for TV shows on Foxtel and are regularly heard on Tripple JJJ and other radio stations. Ray has a beautiful voice and is the most accomplished teachign and transit MRA staff member. His roles in clude both the Hip Hop and Rock Courses including Allstar bands. His knowledge with NI Maschine is the best in Perth and he is a regular on stage at some of the bigger festivals and at the Bird in Norhtbridge… more on MC Rae soon.

Lance Robinson

Lance is a specialist song-writer and guitar teacher. He is prominent in the Perth music scene with original bands such as ‘Loose Unit’. His knowlwdge of recording and the tools used in the process are second to none and Lance takes the most of the elite Allstar bands at MRA…

Kerry Haines

Kerry is with us in 2012 from London and originally comes from Swansea in Wales… She studied music at Cardiff Univeristy on Flute (and education) and saw the similarities between MRA and Music Futures in the U.K. She is here to learn as much as possible to take back to the UK the MRA teaching systems. She taught with mainstream and special needs groups in 2011 with MRA and brings her world music training to Music Rocks… more on Kerry soon…

Mitch Boag

Mitchell is a Bachelor of Music Graduate (Jazz & Contemporary Studies) from the Monash University School of Music In Melbourne. He began his musical studies as a saxophonist at age 11, and by age 15 was a part of the Victorian State Schools Spectacular Orchestra , and The Victorian State Schools Stage Band by age 16.

In 2005 he was accepted into the Monash School of Music as a Saxophonist where he was under the tutelage of some of Australia’s finest musical educators including Rob Burke (Kate Cebrano, The Black Sorrows) Tony Gould, Jamie Oehlers and Stephen Magnusson. In 2009 Mitchell attended the Summer Jazz Program at The Giuseppe Verdi School of Music in Prato, Italy as part of a Jazz tour organized by Monash University, where he was able to study with leading European and American artists Mirko Guerrini, Ares Tavolazzi (The Gil Evans Orchestra) and Paul Mc Candless (Oregon).

As a performer, Mitchell has played both around Australia and overseas with artists including Kate Cebrano, Nicky Bomba (John Bulter Trio), Matt Hetherington, Allan Fetcher (Neighbors), Ben Nicholas ( Oliver, Mamma Mia, Neighbors),  Allan Vizzutti (Chick Corea), and Harold Jefta (Charlie Parker Memorial Band).

Ross Dwyer

Since graduating from WAAPA with a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Performance) in 2003, Ross Dwyer has been involved in a variety of musical projects, ranging from being guitarist in both the Funk Club House Band and original funk act Randa & the Soul Kingdom from 2003 to 2007, to being a member of the Telstra Rally Australia Corporate Hospitality Band for the 2004,5 & 6 Rallies.

Ross has also toured extensively, including tours of the South-West of WA, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Vancouver Island in Canada, as well as playing guitar on Royal Caribbean cruise ships in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, The Caribbean and Hawaii during 2008-9.

2010 saw Ross complete his Graduate Diploma of Education in Music Teaching at ECU, and currently teaches guitar at both the Cliff Lynton Guitar Institute and Music Rocks Australia

Julian Peet

Originally a student of MRA Director Dean Blanchard, Julian started studying tertiary level music at the young age of 15 after being accepted into WAAPA’s Certificate IV crossover program with Mt Lawley SHS.

After completing the program Julian started a Bachelor of Jazz Performance at WAAPA and currently plays guitar for various bands around the state, playing at festivals such as Southbound and Fremantle’s Blues and Roots.
